Creative Wannabe = Jacinta Kay.

Hello!

Born in the 90’s when Lizzie McGuire, Tamagotchi, Pokemon and crimped hair were cool, I grew up obsessed with pop culture, Shirley Barber fairy tale illustrations and The Magic Faraway Tree books.

Growing up in a household full of painters, musicians and bookworms has meant that I have always loved the magical, mystical art of storytelling, and have been fascinated by fairytales and folklore. Having such creative influences around me as a child has resulted in a deep appreciation for both ancient history and recent nostalgia, and I draw a lot of influence from the rebellious 60’s and 70’s, (also 80's music is my jam!)

After working in the design and media industries with large Australian companies to effectively plan and buy advertising campaigns, I’ve returned to my roots to focus on creating artworks inspired by connection, pop-culture and a touch of magic.

With a degree in Communication Design, I love the intersection of art and practicality, and as such I’ve become a multi-disciplinary creator spanning illustration, lettering, photography and graphic design. Co-owner of Studio JD, I help clients large and small create memorable and effective designs to help showcase their businesses and talents.
